2011....time for some Challenges!

Yep. OUT with the New Year's resolutions to get fitter/eat less chocolate/read more classics etc etc and IN with the crafty New Year's challenges! (Well, lets prioritise things, right?!)

I've decided on two. Just two. But two BIGGIES. Oh yes.

#1 Calendar 365 Challenge: I've been admiring the work of Kate over at The Kathryn Wheel for some time now, especially her Calendar 365 (you have to check out her full years work on her blog - it's pretty amazing). The challenge is to make a page for each month and journal each day on a small square. Here's my page for January, all ready to fill in over the month:

Stamps: The Cat's Pyjamas 'Sheepish', My Cute Stamps 'Snow Cute & various Unity KOTM stamps

I had great fun making this page....sooooo different for me but I LOVE it and loved being experimental!
You can check out other people's pages here.

#2 100 Card Challenge: Lisa over at DahlhouseDesigns took on a personal challenge to make 100 cards before she bought any more products. I thought this was a great idea (albeit one requiring HUGE self-discipline!!!!). I have collected (*ahem*, ok mostly bought) soooo many amazing stamps, papers and embellishments this year that all too easily end up being wonderfully stored and not actually utilised. So...it's time to take stock and MAKE stock!!! Wish me luck (no doubt I will need it!!!)

Happy New Year to you, here's hoping 2011 will be good to you.

  3. Thanks for posting about this, saw it in my Google reader today and thought this is an awesome calendar project to join in!

I don't think I could do the 100-card thing without buying any new goodies, since it would probably take me over a year to make 100 cards! lol! I am trying to use up more papers from my stash though :)

Happy new year and good luck on your projects!

  7. Oohh so pretty! I love the soft sweet colors you used for January. The blue checkered pattern and the white with blue flowers are my favorite details of the whole page, this was my first attempt at a calendar page too, I hope we make it through the whole year!! Thanks for the nice words! (And I am really envious of your perfect little craft cupboard!!!!!!!! I'm putting a craft cupboard on my wish list. It's fantastic!!)

  10. Oh very nice - love the colours for January. And what a great idea putting the name of the month down the side - uses the space well. I might try that next month.

I once banned myself from crafting purchases for 6 months, hoping I would put a dent in my stash...i kept my resolve but you could not notice a difference in my piles of paper e.c.t......I like the sound of the 100 card challenge!!
